Because our focus is on prevention, we firmly believe that education is the key to ending domestic violence.  Our research shows that abuse, in most cases, stems from a lack of self-worth in the individuals who abuse AND are abused.

Our immediate focus is to develop an education model to be used in elementary school. We have completed an initial study to learn what middle school students know and understand about self-worth. The findings are guiding our next steps.

For the past several years, we have offered a free a 1-hour, hands-on adult program perfect for any group that brings in speakers to support its members. Reignite Your Self-Worth teaches people how to identify an incident from their past, reframe the situation and write a positive affirmation that supports healing and moving past the pain. Supporting Aureus now will provide future generations with a foundation of self-worth, thereby reducing the likelihood of abuse.
